Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

The DeKalb County Health Department (DCHD) is closely monitoring the fast-changing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). On March 21, 2020, DeKalb County identified its first positive case of COVID-19.

DCHD is in regular communication with and following guidance provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Center’s for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)  on the changing COVID-19 situation. DCHD’s Communicable Disease staff routinely monitor and investigate disease transmission and response, which is the case with this new virus.

DeKalb County residents and healthcare professionals with concerns about exposure or specific symptoms are encouraged to call the DCHD Communicable Disease Department at (815)-748-2467 Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm.

  • The number of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases does not represent an accurate number of cases in DeKalb County, because not all who have symptoms are being tested.

Note: Data is provisional and subject to change. Number of negative tests may be higher than reported, as laboratories are voluntarily reporting negative results.
