DeKalb County to Host Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

In collaboration with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, the DeKalb County Health Department will host a free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is open to all Illinois residents.
The household hazardous waste event will be held at the DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport located at 2200 Pleasant St. in DeKalb, IL. Participants should enter from the East via County Farm Road. Registration is required, please register at DeKalb County Hazardous Waste Registration
Hazardous waste includes a variety of home chemicals. Some examples include adhesives, auto fluids, cooking oil, fluorescent bulbs, garden and pool products, poisons and acids, stains, solvents and varnishes. Oil based and latex paints will be accepted.
