Tuberculosis (TB) testing checks to see if an individual has been exposed to the bacterium that causes tuberculosis (TB). Persons with latent and active TB infections can receive consultation, education, referrals and possibly medication.

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing and screening for adults and children (a parent or guardian must be present for children under 18) is provided Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. No appointment is necessary. TB skin testing is not provided on Thursdays.

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing Fees and Eligibility

Fees vary depending on services, please check with staff. Payment is required at the time of service, and can be made by cash or credit/debit card with valid identification. Medicaid is billed when applicable.

Effective 01/04/2024, a credit card fee of 2.25% will be applied to all debit and credit card transactions. A minimum of $1.00 will be applied.

A) $20. We also accept the Illinois Public Aid card.

Q) Do you provide Interferon Gamma Release Assay testing (a blood test or QFT)?

A) Yes, you can call our Community Lab Draw program to schedule 815-748-2420.

Q) Do you provide TB clearance letters for past positive reactors?

A) Yes, for DeKalb County residents. Please call for an appointment.

Q) When does the test need to be read?

A) 48-72 hours after administration.
