Healthcare Enrollment Assistance
DeKalb County Health Department can help our community with free healthcare assistance enrolling in Marketplace Insurance, Medicaid, and All Kids Insurance. Our Navigator may be able to help you if you qualify for one of these programs. The Healthcare Enrollment Assistance Program-Navigator is supported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CM) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $158,005.00 annually with 100% funded by CMS/HHS. The contents are those of the organization and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement, by CMS/HHS, or the U.S. Government.
What do I need for an appointment?
In order to provide you with the best service possible, please bring the following documents to your appointment:
- Current proof of address
- Current proof of income (pay stubs, unemployment paperwork, W-2 forms, etc.)
- Photo I.D.
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Proof of Citizenship
- Any other documents requested during time of interview
Marketplace offers standardized health insurance plans to individuals, families and small businesses. Eligibility requirements apply.
Medicaid is a state funded program for those that are under 65 years of age. Eligibility requirements apply.
All Kids Insurance
All Kids is an Illinois program for children who need comprehensive, affordable health insurance, regardless of immigration status or health condition. Eligibility requirements apply.

Call to schedule your appointment with our Navigator for open enrollment.
If you previously have had Marketplace Insurance, look for your renewal notice and verification documents in the mail.
Open enrollment will be open for coverage. Our Navigator can help you submit your application.
January 15- CMS extended date
Last day for open enrollment! This is the last day you can submit a Marketplace application. The deadline was originally December 15, 2021, but has been extended through January 15, 2022. NOTE: December 15th is still the deadline to achieve coverage starting January 1, 2022. Applications submitted between December 16, 2021 through January 15, 2022 will have a coverage date starting February 1, 2022.
